Jeju Air accepts liability for compensation for loss or damage of baggage occurring during transport by Jeju Air due to negligence in its handling by airline personnel.
To claim compensation for damaged or lost baggage, make a written report to Jeju Air within 7 days after your baggage was handed over to you damaged, or within 21 days after the date on which your baggage was due to have been handed over to you in instances of lost or delayed baggage.
International transport of baggage, depending on the itinerary of a particular passenger, is subject to the Montreal Convention or the Warsaw Convention.
Jeju Air offers a maximum compensation for checked-in baggage of SDR 1,519 per passenger (where the Montreal Convention applies) or USD 20 per KG of baggage (where the Warsaw Convention applies).
Where the value of a damaged or lost personal effect exceeds the value of maximum liability, you can receive a compensation within a reported value range by paying a valuation charge of USD 0.50 per USD 100 for every USD 100 exceeded (or KRW 55 per KRW 10,000).
Transport of an item of a declared value of over KRW 1,000,000 can be denied unless a prior agreement is reached with Jeju Air.
